We would rather publish nothing than publish a story that is not true or not consented to.

Storytelling with a duty of care
Nono Caring Hearts Foundation works with vulnerable women, girls and young people. That places limits on what we publish, and those limits come before any communications benefit.
Consent first
No name, photograph or story is published until the person has given consent and understands where it will appear.
No invented people
We do not write testimonials, quotes or names that did not come from a real participant.
No overclaiming
We describe what Nono Caring Hearts Foundation provided. We do not claim credit for outcomes we cannot evidence.
Safety over storytelling
Locations, family details and images are withheld where publishing them could put someone at risk.

An illustrative journey
To explain how the pathway is intended to work, we describe a composite journey drawn from the organisational profile. It is not a testimonial and it is not any individual's story.
A 19-year-old woman who left school early and has no formal qualification.
01 — Reach
She is identified through community mobilisation — a church group, a local leader, a neighbour who has heard about the training.
02 — Train
She joins a practical cohort: soap and detergent making, or baking, or tailoring. She learns by making, not by lecture.
03 — Practise
She repeats the process until the output is consistent enough to sell — measuring, mixing, finishing, packaging.
04 — Produce
She works on real Nono Caring Hearts Foundation production, where a batch has to meet a standard because a customer is paying for it.
05 — Earn
Where funding allows, she receives modest support while producing. Nono Caring Hearts Foundation cannot yet offer this to everyone.
06 — Launch
With a start-up kit, seed capital or a group arrangement, she begins selling in her own community.
07 — Grow
She keeps buying inputs, keeps a customer base, and eventually brings someone else in to work with her.

How a story becomes publishable
Every submission — from staff, trainers, volunteers or partners — enters as a draft and moves forward only through these steps.

Submitted
A team member, trainer or partner flags a story through the internal form. Nothing is public at this stage.

Consent conversation
A staff member explains where the story would appear and what can be withheld. Consent is recorded with a date and the specific permissions given.
03
Verification
Claims are checked against records — attendance, training completed, support actually provided. Unverifiable claims are removed, not softened.
04
Safeguarding review
Risk is assessed for children, survivors of violence and anyone whose safety could be affected by publication.
05
Editorial sign-off
The story is written in the person's own words wherever possible and read back to them before approval.
06
Published or withheld
Status moves to published only after all four previous steps. Consent can be withdrawn at any time and the story is archived.

Nono Caring Hearts Foundation is a people organisation, not an institution speaking about people. This layer carries the voices of the founder, apprentices, trainees, makers, partners, customers and the community. Every quotation published here was said by a real person and cleared by them first.

- We never write a testimonial on someone's behalf, and never manufacture an emotional story.
- Where a voice has not yet been recorded, we show an empty, labelled slot rather than filler.
