Why Nono Caring Hearts Foundation?
A fair question deserves a direct answer. Here is what we are responding to, what is different about how we work, and why this is the moment to build it.

In and around Kirinya, many young people and women are willing to work but have no marketable skill, no income record, no savings and no access to finance. Training alone rarely changes that: people finish a course and return to the same position they started in, because nothing in their life has changed on paper or in practice.

We do not run a course and hand out a certificate. Skills are learned inside real production — making goods that must meet a standard and be sold to real customers. Training, production and enterprise are one system, not three separate projects, so the learning is tested by the market rather than by an exam.

Practical trades — soap and household products, tailoring, hairdressing and beauty, baking and catering, crafts, agribusiness — have immediate, local demand. They can be started at small scale with modest equipment, they build competence quickly, and the output can be sold from day one.

Enterprise gives the training a purpose and gives the organisation a future. Production creates a place to practise, a stipend possibility for apprentices, and revenue that reduces our dependence on grants over time. Funding here is catalytic, not a permanent subsidy.

The model has been proven in a very limited space, and that space is now the constraint. The Kirinya centre turns a working idea into capacity: more places, safer production, consistent quality. Support at this stage buys the step change, not the experiment.

Most of the people we serve are, in financial terms, invisible. No trading history, no savings record, no collateral, no documented income. Formal finance is not refusing them so much as unable to see them.
Our pathway is designed to make a person visible: a skill that earns, income that can be recorded, savings that can be shown, an enterprise that trades. Each step adds evidence that a lender, programme or buyer can act on.
We state this carefully. This is the direction we are building toward, not a guarantee of a loan, a job or an income. Progress depends on the person, the market and the economy. What we commit to is running the pathway honestly and reporting what actually happens.
